Smartphone Virus Scare

 

As smartphones become more and more popular, so do malware and smartphone virus threats to these devices.  Graduate students from Rutgers University have been studying the social impacts of attacks/hacking of smartphone devices.  More is explained in this YouTube video interview of Rutgers graduate student Jeffrey Bickford.

Many smartphone viruses can invade our most private conversations.  An infected smartphone just needs to be in the same room and anyone can hear what is being said.  In the future all smartphone devices will most likely have to install software to detect and protect from hackers, malware and viruses.  It makes me think twice about what I text, say or photograph with my phone.
